In Response To: I think it's worth underscoring the importance of a snug downhaul ()

I was thinking that I would either run the downhaul to the stem fitting or a padeye about 5' aft depending on which gave a better lead back to the cockpit. I was planning on tying the downhaul to the pole end. Does that sound OK?
