and on sailboats (at least those with sails) we are not dealing with zero angles of attack on sails or on keels (maybe some of those fancy schmancy asymmetrical daggerboardson Open 60s do but that's another world).
I think, from our standpoint, we just need to think about extracting energy from the wind by deflecting it . . . and let the sailmakers figure out the best shape with which to do that.
and when it comes to keels . . . a lot of dinghies seem to do just fine with a flat plywood centerboard with a rounded leading edge . . .
