In order for it to work well the wires coming out have to be the proper size so it seals well. If it doesn't close completely because of the wire size you could also coat the connector with a couple of coats of that liquid wire insulator stuff after you heat seal it. Perhaps a bit overkill but worth it for the piece of mind.
