yes, that's the dilemma

what I've done occasionally as an alternative is to put a small diameter line in the eye of the anchor on the CQR (intended for use as a tripping line) and run it back to a cleat on the deck or tie it to a rail. THis gets the anchor a bit more out of the way and decreases the possibility that it will foul the pennant. It's not an ideal solution but I think it helps. It also means that I can easily use the anchor if need be.
