This summer when we took a transient mooring in Provincetown the mooring pennant chafed on the edge of our anchor when the boat swung across the centerline. It got hooked beneath our anchor twice when it was blowing hard. One of the times I started the engine (in the middle of the night) to get it unhooked.
Our home mooring isn't an issue because it's equipped with a bridle that never comes close to the bow of our center hull. I plan to convert our (travel) anchor bridle so we'll be able to use it with spliced-in heavy-duty steel snap hooks that could be attached to a mooring when we cruise. (WICHARD Model #2328)
