We've been down the east coast a few times. Between getting somewhere, the ICW and sailing options along the way, those trips are the ones we did the least sailing. Once we get somewhere, then we can often do what we like to do and take advantage of weather to sail to new destinations nearby.

In our home waters we get to sail the most of anywhere we've kept the boat over a few decades. The winds are often on the beam to go either east (up) or west (down) the coast. Plus the large bay gives us so many places to go, we haven't really touched a large portion yet.

But we enjoy being on the water at home or in new places on the east coast so it's worth the "motoring" we do.
