lasted 23 years, so perhaps I'm catastrophising. But I thought that for $450, why not be prepared. Also, I could use the drill elsewhere. I, as do all of us, carry lots of stuff that we don't use and hope we never will, e.g. EPRIB, life raft, sea anchor, dougue, flares etc.

My engine fires right up, but it has no glow plug. When I'm in colder climates, I run the starter for the first 10 seconds with the fuel shut off. This gets a bit of warmth in the cylinders, so when I let the fuel flow the engine starts right up even when it is 40* out.
