power draw SG.
The Norcold started (when new) drawing about 3.8 Ah when running. It's now drawing a bit over 4, something like 4.1 or 4.2. Not to bad for all the years it has been working.
The Waeco started and still draws about 4 Ah when running. The Engle is drawing 2.4 Ah running. All measurements taken with the same battery voltage as that does change the draw when it changes.
Next, I set up the Waeco and Engle next to each other in our aft cabin. They were not touching anything, or each other. The next part was NOT scientific, but about the best I could do. For about an hour or two I read a book in the cockpit next to the aft cabin entrance. I kept a record on a scrap paper of the turn on and off of each unit. They were both on about the same amount of time. So, for the 2 units, the major savings is in the current draw. Could not pit the old Norcold as it's mounted in the boat.
So, back to my statement from another post. Next time I will build a shelf and just drop in an Engle unit! MUCH simpler, lower cost and EASY to change!!

By the way, The Waeco unit now lives in our van.
