"I know how a place can "grab" some people and then others won't like it at all. Funny how that is. Sometimes you want to check out "bad" places in the guidebooks just to see if they really *are* bad. And then too, one person's "convenient, lively, lots to do" is another's "ugh, too urban -- get me away from all these people!!"
I'm one of those that can be drawn to someplace with a "low rating" in the guidebooks, because I think they may have missed something. And then there's the big divide for many, those places the guides give high ratings and 90% of of cruisers head to, and those that are repelled by the crowds and seek, even preach the opposite. I guess I fall into both categories, I enjoy both.
I've been to Nassau on my own boat as well as having spent time there in the 60's as a kid. It's changed a lot in that time. I've seen the good and the bad there, and still would return.
