in a few weeks. It's a 1985 Hunter 40 and everything is WAY overdue for replacement and I'll be replacing all the stuff that's easier to do while the mast is sitting on sawhorses (low-loss coax, wiring, sheaves, etc.) I also intend to replace the cheapy incandescent anchor light with a LED unit and I'm thinking I should also install a tri-color while I'm at it. In another of those "while you're at it" scenes I may upgrade my instrumentation (depth/speed/wind.) I'm looking hard at the Nexus system with the wireless mast-top vane to eliminate some wiring hassles.
FWIW, I'm also replacing sails (Mack), installing a Strongtrack, running rigging, pulling/inspecting chainplates (magnaflux probably) and about million other things. I've already got several spreadsheets going to help me organize and gawd-almighty I'm scared shitless. I'm already going to (have been) hiring some local pros to look over my shoulder to make sure I don't screw up too bad but I'd appreciate ANY guidance I can get.
Soooo, since you guys are some of the smarter people I interact with (I don't get out much ) if you have any input on the following I'd REALLY appreciate it:
1. bullet-proof LED anchor light
2. Tri-color (w/anchor combo?)
3. Instrumentation suite (especially the wind instrument.)
