Good info, Tom, on both counts. On my Jaunty project....

..I'm starting out with all chain rode..1/4" BBB..as I've been carrying it on my back for over thirty years. I figure when I get the boat launched..someday..soon I hope..I'll have my chunky ass in the stern and mebbe need ballast forward to compensate. Should that not prove to be true or if it precipitates too much pitching I'll go back to the typically used chain length and nylon rode I've used for forty years. I reckon the truth is I can get by with just a snubber on my tiny boat anyways.

I appreciate your perspective since you seem to get out a lot successfully.
