might just be Shannas Cove north of Orange Creek, we had great pizza and the dinner menu looked great. Frank and Gabbi have only been there two years and they are ranked #4 in the Bahamas on Trip Advisor. You could anchor off the resort in an east wind. After we weathered a mild front at Fernandez Bay with a lot of surge, we found out that the boats at Orange Creek were much more comfortable.
Yes,we went to the Hermitage, very impressive, especially after we had seen Father Jerome's two churches in Clarencetown, Long Island. BTW, the grill at the Flying Fish Marina in Clarencetown has a half dozen conch fritters for $2.00! We also had an excellent lunch at the Bluebird in New Bight.
And, there have been quite a few improvements to Cape Eleuthera Marina since I was there ten years ago, a nice little eatery and showers and laundry. Also, really good management. We were kept awake by some loud cottage guests in the early hours, but when I mentioned this the next morning while checking out, the manager responded "no charge for your stay." I was impressed.
We are currently in Governors Harbor, Eleuthera, headed for Alabaster Bay tomorrow, stay a couple days, then up to Spanish Wells, harbor Island and finally the Abacos.
