I have yet to turn AC on in my boat... I want to ensure that it is safe all throughout, and one recommendation of the surveyor was to replace the outlets with GFCI. I'll also go back into the panel and ensure that green and white are NOT on the same buss. This was also what the Navy had throughout their ships... we called it "balanced power" as white was isolated from the ships hull. The hull was ground which acted as green. Every electronic device brought on board had to be tested to ensure that it did not tie white to green.
Fortunately my whole electrical system is rather simple, so any changes or modifications are easy to make.
GFCI breakers sound like a great idea, but may be difficult to retro fit into my 1980 panels. (I believe they tend to be somewhat large).
