I have a heavy charger I want to mount and I am contemplating a couple of different ideas.
One idea is to glue/resin a board to the inside of the lazerette and use wood screws... seems like a weak attachment to me.
Another idea is to thru bolt the charger to the shared wood wall between the lazerette and the cabin. Not a bad idea, would seek to use rounded head bolts to keep it a clean installation.
Yet another idea is thru bolting from the outside of the lazerette to the inside, through the fiberglass. I would seal the hole with some compound, but obviously a bolt head (rounded) would still show.
And of course yet other choice is to mount the thing in plain sight and route the cables through holes lined with anti abrasion material. This is not as neat as it might sound as the power connector is hard wired and would require a large hole. (I could cut and slice, but this rather breaks the integrity of the AC connection. (of course I could do that anyway, and hard wire this to a box in the lazerette... but I prefer to plug it into a GCFI outlet instead)
So what would you guys do? As far as access to controls... there really are no controls, just a couple of indicating lights which show charging state and condition.
