I used to do that on prior boats

but here in the northeast there are some areas with super gooey mud that is very difficult to clean just by dipping and running slow. I would end up by bringing the muddy anchor up and dislodging mud with boat hook alternately with repeated douses of seawater from a bucket. A real PITA while drifting in the anchorage.

I decided to install it on Double Horizon and it was worth the time and expense. A strong wash-down in a concentrated stream is a luxury -- it punches through the thickest mud and also makes it easier to clean the chain as it comes in.
