There are all kinds out there. I like watching the contemporary racers just as much as the classic boats. One of the funnier scenes I saw a couple years ago was a large racing fleet heading my way to the windward mark.

There were quite a few large racers out front of course, both mono and a couple of very fast multis. The odd thing was, while they were sailing much faster, the two big multis were doing a series of rapid tacks back and forth just in front of the larger monos not tacking. I assume they were closing on the mark?

At any rate, it looked a lot to me like a medieval wedding procession were flower girls skipped and weaved out front of the bride and groom. Maybe you had to be there.
