Three or four years ago we were late

to catch a plane and were rolling down the ICW in Florida about 10PM in my friends 42 foot cat. We came to a bridge and signaled for an open. The bridge tender saw us, opened the bridge and just as we got to it we noticed two guys sitting in a small boat, at anchor, right in the middle of the the channel. It was dark but we were lucky because the bridge had a small light under it. We just saw them in time but with a 42 foot cat there wasn't much room to maneuver. As we went by I said to one of the fellows "Anchoring in the dark under a bridge in the middle of the channel isn't to smart". He looked up at me and didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about. I guess you could say that being entirely unenlightened he was experiencing a difficulty in the vociferation adequate to the finer points of his situation. In any event, we made our plane in the nick of time and all was well.
