I tend to think after 2 months put it on the hard but it is a personnel choice.

Some things I have heard. Cost, Available may favor one or the other.
In the water: Sinking, Grow on the hull, electrolysis, rubbing on hull from dock.
On the hard: Wood dry out, hull deforms, Fall off stands, Damage pulling out, Can do maintenance that can not be done in the water, Less damage from storms ( I think this may vary with location).

I am sure other can add more.
