Here is a case in Mexico. that the island is shown in the right place by Google earth but if I looked at it with my Chart ploter the island would show up in the direction of the dark spot in the pic above, the island is over 7 miles form the charted position. I guess Google is using a different chart for the dark spot, and it show the island 2 mile away from the location. The information is out there. the 2 have not met. I am using the well known gold chip in my chart plotter.
