We organized a flare demonstration by the Coast Guard Aux.

We shot off 12 gauge, 25MM and SOLAS along with smoke canisters etc. After shooting the 12 gauge we shot off a 25MM parachute flare. The woman that shot the 25MM flare immediately told her husband to get rid of the 12 gauge ASAP and get the 25MM parachutes. If you've never had the chance to compare them you don't know how worthless a 12 gauge flare is. The difference is amazing.
