A small milestone fro my 1936 vintage powerboat Tortuga

I launched Tortuga on Monday. The picture was taken Monday afternoon. She is still taking on a bit of water, but not enough to be a problem. It took a three and a half minute bilge pump run this morning to pump out the leakage from 17 hours.

I decided to launch the boat even though the varnish work on the cabin house isn't done so that I can get the engine install checked out and sea trialed for warranty purposes. I also discovered that the boat needs a fair amount of trim ballast in the bow. Since I took the picture below, I have added about 300 lbs of lead to the bow and the trim is better, but I still need to add more weight.
