The rubber mounts I was refering to were under the engine. Prop pushes forward, engine on mounts move forward, shaft moves forward, seal faces open. Not good.
As for the water supply to the seal, put a filter on the line & keep the sand out of the seals. The carbon seals are happy with stuff less than 80 micron.
