Time was, to keep a boat up to Lloyds 100A1, you had to practically dismantle it every few years . . . pull out tanks to test them and see what's going on behind and under them, withdraw keel bolts, drop the rudder, etc., etc., etc.
When that Gulfstar was built, everyone probably believed that stainless steel was the silver bullet (ouch!). We know better now . .. as Dan y discovered.
