Wayfarer Marine (which does very conscientious work) typically uses "old" adhesive rigging tap, for example. When I said that I wanted (NAVTEC)self amalgmating tape, they said that with their season being so short, they don't use it usually. They happily used mine. (By the way, I have only good things to say about Wayfarer ... like most places that I've had some work done in Maine.)

- As I understand it, it's more of a "varnish oil" than a typical varnish as we think of it.
