Good flow-out is the result of careful thinning ... thin varnish with 'reducer'. Amount of thinning depends on temperature and relative humidity.
Decant the amount of varnish you think you need into a clean jar.
Do a trial (small) brush-on onto a vertical glass plate with small 'square artist brush'.
If if it doesnt flow, keep adding a drop or two (or more) of reducer, until the varnish FLOWS perfectly.
(You can return the 'test-brush' varnish by scraping off with a razor and carefully putting it back into the container).
Final Coat.
Flat wet-sand with wet & dry 320 paper and sanding block .... get it FLAT.
Final coat via PREVAL self contained sprayer: http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=2155&familyName=Preval+Spray+Gun+Kit
Filter the varnish before spraying with small conical paint strainer; throw away the 'filter' thats attached to the PREVAL stem.
End result ... Will make the Hinckley crowd blush with envy.
