The heat shield requirement is relatively recent as I understand it...
In Response To: All the Racors on our three boats were the conventional ones without "heat shields" (all were in the engine compartment) ()
I first found out about it approximately 5-6 years ago during an insurance survey. I assume that your boats may predate the requirement.
