..I spaced it an inch out from the combusible surfaces, had only 1/4" board on the base support, not raised in any way so the stove was well supported. Tile might look nice but I agree it's mighty heavy.

Any answer I might have missed on the firebrick inside? Diablo splits, one inch thick is what I used. Just laid in on the stove bottom inside, stacked around the side walls with just a thin metal 'holder' for them along the tops of the bricks.
