Hi Tom,
I just finished installing the Hurricane II Combi system a few weeks ago and so far am really pleased! It's so nice to be able to turn it on and in 10 minutes max have endless hot water for showers or washing dishes. I think the thermostats do a really good job of regulating the cabin temperature... I've found that when using with my noisy 16,500 BTU Webasto reverse cycle air conditioner for heating, the cabin always got too hot or too cold and I have to regularly turn the air conditioner on or off because the thermostat just can't get the temperature right. But I've found that the Hurricane II Combi thermostats keep their zones at the perfect temp all the time.. really comfortable heating..
Multiple zones with their own thermostats are really nice too.. I don't need to heat the aft cabin when I spend the day in the main cabin and etc...
amps/hours... I haven't yet really looked at amp/hour consumption yet, but looking at my battery bank amp meter right now...
- 17 amps - burner on, 2 radiator fans blowing for two zones... geeze that seems like a lot...
- 15 amps - burner on, 1 radiator fan blowing for 1 zone
- 12 amps - burner off, 2 radiator fans for 2 zones
- 6 amps - burner off, 1 radiator fan for 1 zone
- 0 amps - burner off, both radiators off
- There's an antifreeze circulation pump that cycles on and off as needed also and I'm not sure how many amps that uses or how to conveniently tell when it's on or off... so the above numbers are affected by that..
All of the above are always turning on and off as needed, so the amp meter fluctuates a lot as with the #s above... It seems that the burner is on only maybe 20% of the time.. and the radiator fans are on maybe only 50% of the time.. hope this helps... So far I really love this heater!
