What paperwork and contacts should be maintained while off on a open cruise to where ever? Assuming open ended plans... could be 'round the world, could be just to Mexico for a long long time.

What do you really need? Health insurance? Boat insurance? Power of attorney? Contact back on the mainland? Boat registration? Forwarding address?

Or is is as simple as get enough food and water and cast off?

Other than the obvious... a well found boat... what does one have to have when leaving the country?
