I am thinking of a couple of different ideas... one a rack like Larry suggested with some sort of way to lock things in place.

The other is some sort of not very deep cabinet as a table and wine bottle holder to fit on the forward bulkhead. No deeper than wine bottle typical "thickness." There was a nice idea of this nature in This Old Boat, that also included a tool storage chest below...

Just an idea.

Further along I also liked Greg D's idea for a weather hood for outside storage.

Little things like this make a small boat work.

Orion 27s have a wine bottle storage area... but it is below the sole and it can get wet... (but is above the bilge)... good access, but not quite sure what to do with it.
