Yes -- our thread a few weeks ago about my thinking of a trip to Maine definitely highlighted the question about range. The thing about sailing is that even if your boat is fast it just means you can motor less. Yes if we time our trip with a cold front we could make it up there in 3 or 4 days, but we can't count on that -- and we enjoy the stops along the way. If we just wanted to get from point A to point B we'd drive or fly.

I sure would enjoy the spaciousness of Dave Gibson's trawler, but would not enjoy those twin noisemakers or $800 fuel stops.
