This was the public landing in Rockport two days before Irene was scheduled to arrive. Hauling would continue right up to the end. I remember it didn't give me much confidence to leave the boat in the harbor.
This was the next afternoon in Pulpit Harbor. After your anchor(s) is down, there's not much to do while waiting for storms. These guys took a day sail in a pretty boat.
The morning of the storms arrival, gulls began to hunker down in the lees around the harbor well before much wind had arrived.
A few last minute boats showed up. A good rule I've found, for storm prep, don't be too late.
Then it finally came, what would be our part of Irene. I watched 50 knots of wind and lots of rain through the ports. We were lucky.
