It's mostly not new, these look more like old sailboats than contemporary boats.

But with some better ideas above and below the water. The biggest thing that is missing is accommodation. Where are the aft cabins? Where are the U-shaped galleys, the head with shower, the spacious saloon?

In the same waterline lengths, say 35 to 40 feet, these boats don't have accommodations, or they have no more than the smaller cruisers of decades ago.

I guess of those boats like ours, there are plenty to go around for those interested in buying them. For the few that want new coastal cruising boats like ours, well, they don't amount to any market by the looks of Sabre or Morris for instance. As many of these new boat buyer types seem to be doing a full rebuild of an older designs(some, 50 years and older). Custom seems to be where many of these buyers are building.

I'm with you, nothing much new today. Seems many of the new design ideas, are really quite old. Small boat builders are a thing of the past too.
