Great question Nestor. Can you tell us how much sailing you've done and what boats have you owned?

We seem to be in an age where many people start sailing with good sized boats, first. My first thought is, a 48' boat sails just like a 28' boat, for me, and my wife and I would have no problem. There's higher forces to deal with on the bigger boat, so you would want to allow more forethought, and caution especially in sporty conditions, for safety purposes, until you get to know the boat.

If you've done a fair amount of sailing, owned and sailed smaller boats over some years, are in reasonable shape, you and your wife should have a great time with that boat!

On the other hand, I have friends that started sailing on a mid 30' performance racer cruiser. They didn't have much sailing background, no smaller boats they had owned and sailed, so they learned on that boat.

It didn't work out that well. The whole family was nervous onboard, especially after they ripped out the binnacle on a nasty jibe. They stuck it out and even eventually took some lessons. But in the end, they sold the boat and are out of sailing.

Good luck, that's a great boat.
