There's quite a bit of problems lately with pin holes in copper pipe in Southern California. Something about aluminum in the water. We've had 4 pin holes during the past 3 years making quite a mess of things each time. Our plumber friend told us that he's seeing it all he time and suggested to just wrap it with rubber and put a hose clamp over it.

So far so good.
