David,
We originally ordered the Newaveco solenoid with expected delivery in April. Well, April came and went and we installed the system, but no Newaveco and the ship date was pushed to the end of June. Unfortunately, with our plans we needed more certainty as perhaps the biggest benefit of the power savings we will see for years will be in July when we sail across the Atlantic, so I flopped the order over to the Ecopilot. It is sitting in my bag waiting to go to the boat and I'll install it in 2 weeks. For the money the Ecopilot seems like the bomb. If the literature is correct we should save about 25 amps hours / day, which is huge for us. On the order of a 20-25% of our daily draw. Much cheaper than a equivalent amphour solar panel.
The true test will be in July.
