I always use two lines...
That would give me some worry too
Yeow is all I can say.
Ok, ok, I admit in my youth hoisting myself with a four part fall and no second halyard..
I always use 2 halyards
Two halyards plus a lanyard
One halyard, plus a lanyard
I just use a single halyard and the electric self tailing winch...
Same here,
Same with us
Last time up..
Good to hear i'm not alone. I can still see that winch creaking, imagining the screws in the 1/8" thick mast.

I sailed on the Bounty out of Sydney, Australia
Bluenose 2, about 30 years ago.

sounds like the (over)thought police
When someones going up the mast
...as Charlie says, you have to be
We ALWAYS use a self-tailing winch
The best riggers shinny up ---
Going aloft
Up the mast.....
