A sloop rig is a really dumb thing to put on a power boat, no? (grin)
Dave Pedrick was given the design brief for a sailboat that could motor to Bermuda in 24 hours, with a telescoping mast that could be lowered enough to sneak under the Brooklyn Bridge... Not since Bob Perry's Container Yacht, has a designer been asked to think so far out of the box (or inside of one, as the case may be)...
I spoke to one of the crew years ago at Bahia Mar, he confessed that the stupid thing never actually sails anywhere, EVER...
The thing has been for sale for years, price is now down to $19 million... Tough to find a buyer for a 130' MacGregor, I guess...
