We went in quite a bit, well beyond the moored boats off Thayers-Y-Knot boatyard, and had 6 feet a low water, and about a mile of swinging room all around. It was a very pleasant night as light north winds blew.
I was amazed how protected it was in there. It's only open for a narrow slot of wind out of the SW. On most nights in a light south wind, it would be comfortable.
The other thing I noticed, the mud. It's very deep and encased the anchor and lots of chain, and it was some of the stickiest mud I've ever seen. Good stuff for holding.
