Peter,
I see you got a couple of replies so far. Thought I would add to it.
We don't have a lot of deck real estate to mount panels, so we go with a mix of quick removable ones, and just removable ones.
We have one 85 W on the stern that is mounted with plastic rail clamps that is easy to remove. For the wiring I use a connector like the one at; WEST MARINE
Electrical Connectors, model 181867. You can see it at; http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=100454&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=50523&subdeptNum=50566&classNum=50570#.UElh-iLtNCI
I also put one of the mounted side parts just under our shore power connector. When we get to anchor, we fly a few panels (as many as we need) and connect them in parallel and connect them to this connector. Both connectors feed our 30 Amp solar controller.
The ones we fly at anchor are not as fast or easy as the side rail mounted ones, but works well for us over the years.
And I can say that we has sat out 3 hurricanes. We removed ALL panels in prep for each one. AND we were very glad we mounted them this way!
Hope this helps.
Greg
Photo below shows our roll up panels, but we also have a couple of ridged ones that fit the same hinges.
