It would be fairly heavy, and it would slap

Neel is advertising (for the 45) "Light displacement 6.5 T, Full load displacement 9 T".

My boat is already too heavy, IMHO, but the Neel compares on the heavy side with my boat; the Dragonfly 1200, advertised; "Weight of standard boat, ready to sail 5,700 kgs, Max total weight excl. crew 7,230 kgs".

As for slapping/pounding, there is no doubt in my mind that the Neel would pound in rough seas. On my boat the leeward ama (float) buries about 1/3 to half-way under a heavy wind load, and it's not unusual for larger waves to splash up through the lee net (and nets don't pound). If we had a hard bridge-deck like the Neel it would pound. Also, I don't care for the anchor setup on the Neel.

Also, I don't care for the looks of the Neel, but acknowledge that's in the eye of the beholder.
