What I needed was someone to sail the boat while I took the pictures(or vice versa). I used to have handy family members for that but they're scarce these days. And it's hard to get someone to do a long set of photos, maybe have to return a couple of times and repeat the tack. Before you know it, you've got a job on your hands.

A camera can spoil a good sail....
