And I think a new storm surge normal was set in many areas. Right now the metro areas are getting the tape measures out and marking new surge and storm tide levels. Many of their buildings and infrastructure worked fine in the 50's. Today, is it worth the money to repair it regularly(twice now in a row-Irene/Sandy), or is the will($) there to re design.

That's a huge debate just beginning, as important as it is, we're concerned with boats here. I'm reading that many hauled boats floated off in yards that was not expected to have that problem. Motorboats float off first, shallow draft next,...what a mess. Then there's the height of dock pilings, new heights may be required.

Maine is lucky for sure, other areas to the south might now not be such a good idea for storage?
