I'd consider fiberglassing the entire outside of the hull

If you don't go with fiberglass, try to work some thickened epoxy into the joint from both sides coating the entire seam. If it still leaks then you could just give it a sanding and lay the fiberglass over the seams. It wouldn't be a lot of extra work to glass the entire hull rather than just the seams.
