... I have an ICOM 710, have been thinking about a headset for some time, have not at all looked into it, have no idea how or where one would plug into my SSB ? I don't know why I'm asking this question, because like all of you, we never have the engine on in the first place, right ... HA. On our boat, if I want to hear SSB traffic, and we are motoring, we have to power down to a low idle, and if it's really important and propagation is sketchy, sometimes we'll power off the engine like Dan does. Does anyone know if I can get a headset for the 710 ... and if so which make/model should I consider, or will any work ? Assuming still use the MIC to transmit ?

FWIW, I have not ever noticed interference when using the SSB and the Pilot or anything else. We don't use the SSB for email, rather a SAT phone.
