It's an interesting experience when you test different audio components or speakers. My hearing is not as good as it use to be but when I switch speaker systems on the stereo or try different headsets the difference can be amazing. I can hear more on the old Advent speakers I bough on Craigslist than I can from newer Chinese I have.

Of course, you could always add one of those gizmos you see in movies where they can isolate a butterflys wing noise in the middle of a carnival.
