I've had two dreams. One was to go cruising, which I've now done, although I always thought it would be on a sailboat. The second is to have a little place on a chunk of land in the mountains.

Last July, Pam and I took a trip to upstate NY to visit family. My father-in-law had sold ten acres of land to a friend of his who was going to build on it but never did. We made a quick decision to buy the land, and this summer will start building a little farm stead.

I really don't see boating in my future, but you never know. We may charter in the Caribbean, something like that. Or maybe bum rides on friends' boats in Maine.
