Allied made tough boats. Sorry I have not updated sooner but the night before Sandy I drove to the marina (a 3 hour drive from my place) to tie the boat down better and do what I could to secure it better. After getting there I realized there was not much I could do because of the wind. I was able to add a few lines but staying on the dock was dangerous. After Sandy the marina called and said that my boat suffered substantial damage. I went up expecting the worst but really there was almost no damage at all. Popped a few fenders, a lifeline got chewed up when the end eye seperated and the line got caught between the boat and the dock, and that's all. You can see how the boat chewed the dock up but no damage done. Pretty amazing really. There were a couple of boats that lost masts, suffered real fiberglass damage and a few there lines parted and went floating down the fairway crashing into things. I feel really lucky but am still amazed I didn't suffer more damage. Here is a pic of the boat and my dock. Allied Chance-1 Dock -0.
