I just had my Sentry battery charger rebuilt, and to calibrate it, I was asked to turn on everything 12 volt. I did, and it drew practically nothing. All 12 volt lights are either LED or flourescent. It was only when I kicked on the water pump that he got enough of a draw.
I think a three year pay back on solar panels is pretty good. Much better than the eight year pay back on the grid tie PV system I'm planning for my little house in the mountains.
