To me, there's just so much that doesn't ring true about this one... How could anyone possibly be that stupid, for starters?

But the part about the "nephew" being one of the children, strikes me as being one of those needless details offered, in an effort to lend credibility... This story has certainly gotten enough play in the mainstream media on the west coast by now, don't you think the parent or other family member of that child would have heard about it by now, and come forward to verify the credibility of these reports? Are we really to believe that NO ONE in any port along the coast has apparently heard of a small boat by that name, or were aware of a family's departure on an offshore trip down the coast in midwinter??? Sounds like the CG was in communication with them over a considerable period of time, and yet they never even got the family's NAME?

Just sounds too fishy, to me... At least, I certainly hope so...
